Password reset
Regain access safely when you forget your password — and harden the new one afterward.
Overview
Password reset lets you set a new password through a secure email flow when you can’t sign in. Afterward, enable MFA if you haven’t already, and review sessions in case anything looks unfamiliar.
Why this feature exists
Locked accounts create panic. A clear reset path restores access without weakening security.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open forgot password
From the sign-in screen, choose the forgot-password option.
- 2
Use your account email
Enter the email on the account. Check inbox and spam for the reset message.
- 3
Choose a new strong password
Prefer a long, unique password. Avoid reusing passwords from other sites.
- 4
Sign in and review security
Confirm you can access Home, then open Security settings to verify MFA and sessions.
Best practices
- Change your password promptly if you suspect someone else knows it.
- Update saved passwords in your password manager after a reset.
- Don’t share reset links — they are for you alone.
Productivity tips
- After reset, complete one quick MFA check so the next sign-in is smooth.
Common mistakes
- Requesting many reset emails and using an old link.
- Resetting on a public computer and leaving the session open.
Frequently asked questions
I didn’t get a reset email. What now?
Check spam, confirm you used the right email, and wait a moment before requesting another. If it still doesn’t arrive, contact support.
Will resetting my password delete my case?
No. Password reset changes sign-in credentials. Your case materials remain associated with your account.
