Evidence library
Browse, open, and manage the materials in your case from one organized Evidence library.
Overview
Evidence is the library of materials in your case — documents and related items Sera has organized after you add them. Use it to open files, understand what you have, and connect items to Timeline, Topics, and exports.
Why this feature exists
A chronology alone isn’t enough. You need a reliable place to find the actual pages, photos, and files that support each moment.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open Evidence
From primary navigation, open Evidence with your current case selected.
- 2
Browse what’s available
Scan titles, types, and recent additions. Open an item to view its content.
- 3
Connect to the story
Link important items to timeline events or topics so they’re easy to find in context.
- 4
Remove what doesn’t belong
If something was added by mistake, Move to Trash. You can restore later if needed.
Best practices
- Open source documents before relying on summaries or recommendations.
- Keep filenames meaningful when you can — exports inherit clarity.
- After uploads, confirm key materials appear in Evidence before building packages.
Productivity tips
- Use Evidence to gather the few strongest documents before a lawyer conversation.
- Pair Evidence review with Evidence Gaps to see what’s missing, not only what’s present.
Common mistakes
- Assuming every upload finished reviewing when the library still looks incomplete.
- Leaving weak duplicate photos alongside the clear scan of the same page.
Frequently asked questions
Is Evidence different from Add Documents?
Add Documents is how materials enter the case. Evidence is where you browse and manage them after they’re in your workspace.
Can I download a single evidence item?
You can open and work with materials in the app, and use Export when you need a fuller package. Check Export for what’s included in a downloadable set.
