Evidence strength

Understand how SeraCase surfaces confidence and evidence strength — and how to strengthen weak spots.

Overview

Not every item supports a point equally. Evidence strength (sometimes shown as confidence) helps you see which materials are clearer, better linked, or more useful for a given insight. It’s a preparation signal — not a court ruling and not legal advice.

Why this feature exists

When time is short, you need to know where your case feels solid and where you still need better documents or clearer links.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Review Insights and related surfaces

Open Insights or related recommendations to see where strength or confidence is called out.

  2. 2

    Open the underlying evidence

Never rely on a strength label alone. Read the source document in Evidence.

  3. 3

    Strengthen weak areas

Add clearer documents, link better sources to timeline events, or note gaps as tasks.

  4. 4

    Revisit after new uploads

Strength can change when better materials arrive. Refresh Insights after meaningful additions.

Best practices

  • Treat strength as a guide for preparation, never as a prediction of legal outcomes.
  • Prefer primary documents (orders, filings) over secondhand summaries when strengthening a point.
  • Record Evidence Gaps when strength is low because something is missing entirely.

Productivity tips

  • Focus first on strengthening the few points you’ll discuss with counsel this week.
  • Use Ask Sera to ask which claims still lack clear supporting documents.

Common mistakes

  • Reading a high-confidence label as legal advice or a guaranteed result.
  • Ignoring low-strength areas until export day.

Frequently asked questions

Does evidence strength mean I’ll win?

No. Strength reflects how clearly materials support organization and insights inside SeraCase. Only a qualified lawyer can advise on legal strategy and outcomes.

Why did strength change after I uploaded more files?

New documents can clarify or complicate a point. Sera updates insights as your materials evolve.
