Where are my documents stored?

Documents live in private cloud storage tied to your account — not public links or shared folders.

Overview

When you use Add Documents, files are uploaded to private cloud buckets and linked to your case. Objects are not publicly listable. Previews and downloads use short-lived authenticated access.

Why this feature exists

Knowing where files live helps you trust the workspace and plan exports or retention.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Upload through Add Documents

Always add files from inside SeraCase so they attach to the correct case and receive encryption and scanning.

Best practices

  • Keep originals you need offline as your own backup if your matter requires it.
  • Use Export when you need a portable package for counsel.

Productivity tips

  • After large batches, confirm files appear under Evidence and Timeline before closing the browser.
