Divorce Evidence Organizer: Keep Records Connected to Events

A screenshot, account statement and calendar entry may all relate to the same event but sit in separate folders. SeraCase helps you keep supporting records findable, add context and connect them to your chronology. Organization makes review easier; it does not decide whether a record is admissible.

SeraCase is organizational software, not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice or replace a qualified professional.

Preserve the record and its context

Add evidence files to the case workspace and use readable labels and notes to explain their source and purpose. Keep originals unchanged. When a message matters, preserve the surrounding conversation rather than relying only on a cropped screenshot.

Distinguish the source from your note about it. “Message about the April handover” is a useful description; “Proof of deliberate misconduct” adds a conclusion that may not follow from the record. A neutral label helps another reviewer reach the source without adopting your interpretation.

Link evidence to the event it supports

A case timeline connects dated events and supporting documents. This helps when several file types describe one incident or when a document was created after an event. Note which date is the event date and which is the message or file date.

Mark approximate dates and conflicting accounts rather than filling gaps with guesses. Review repeated entries and missing references. A coherent chronology can reveal what you need to verify without claiming that a gap proves something happened.

Prepare a smaller collection for the current question

The complete archive and the material needed for a specific meeting are different collections. Start with the question you need help with, select relevant sources and keep the archive available. Include an index explaining what each record relates to.

SeraCase can surface missing or weak supporting material as preparation prompts. A flagged gap is not a legal finding and does not justify unauthorized collection. Ask a professional about preservation, disclosure and admissibility; uploading a file does not make it court-ready.

A practical starting workflow

  1. Upload records and add neutral source notes.
  2. Connect evidence to dated events and keep uncertainty visible.
  3. Prepare an index and focused questions for your adviser.

Questions about this workflow

Does SeraCase decide which evidence will be accepted?

No. Evidence requirements depend on the court and circumstances. SeraCase organizes records for review.

Should I edit a screenshot to make a point clearer?

Keep the original unchanged. Put explanations separately and seek advice about any extract you plan to use.
