Can other users access my case?
Your case is private to your account — here’s what that means, and how sharing should work instead.
Overview
Other SeraCase users cannot open your private case. Materials stay bound to your account. If someone else needs documents — for example your lawyer — use Export and a secure sharing method rather than sharing your login.
Why this feature exists
Privacy questions are common and important. A clear answer prevents risky workarounds like password sharing.
Step-by-step
- 1
Keep your credentials private
Never share your password or MFA codes — not even with family helping you organize.
- 2
Work inside your own account
Each person who needs their own workspace should use their own account.
- 3
Share materials via Export
Create a package and send it through a channel counsel trusts.
- 4
Review sessions if you’re unsure
Open sessions/security tools to confirm only your devices are signed in.
Best practices
- Use MFA so a leaked password alone is not enough.
- Sign out of shared or public computers.
- Be careful with screen sharing during support or family help — hide unrelated windows.
Productivity tips
- Prepare a counsel-ready export instead of granting live account access.
Common mistakes
- Sending your password “just for today.”
- Leaving yourself signed in on a shared device.
Frequently asked questions
Can SeraCase employees browse my case like another user?
Access is controlled by security and privacy practices. See the Trust Center and Privacy overview for how protection and access are described.
What if I want a family member to help?
Prefer sitting together while you remain signed in, or export specific materials. Don’t share your password.
